A decorative wall plate infused with glass to create a beautiful watery effect. The process of adding glass to ceramic is very volatile, and this plate broke in the firing, so it has been fixed in a Kintsugi style which is a Japanese technique where pottery is fixed with gold. In this instance it is fixed with a glue mixed with gold dust. Dimensions: 26cm diameter How it’s made: The glass cools at a different rate to the ceramic which causes the glass to crackle and craze leaving a distinctive watery quality to the ceramic piece. How to hang it: The plates have small indents on the back which allows you to hang the plate on the wall, straight on to a nail or screw. Please be aware that this plate is NOT FOOD SAFE All ceramic pieces are lovingly hand-crafted by Jay in her studio in Edinburgh, Scotland. Please note: Slight variations in glaze, colour and size may occur, and any small imperfections are celebrated as part of the handmade process of ceramics. ***Follow Jay on Instagram @jayfrazerceramics***
